Another disease spread by ticks is Kyasanur Forest Disease, found in south India. It is a virus which is related to the Russian Spring-Summer viruses. A virus found in the Western USA and Canada is Colorado Tick fever virus. There are several viruses that casue encephalitis. They include Negishi virus (Japan) and Powassan virus (Canada).
