Hanta virus and deer ticks

What is your reference for this statement?  According to the CDC info on
Hanta (last updated March 1995):

Ticks, fleas, mosquitos and other biting insects are not known to have a role
in  the transmission of hantaviruses.  Person-to-person transmission has  not
been  associated with any of the previously identified hantaviruses  or  with
the  recent outbreak in the Southwest.  Cats and dogs are not known to  be  a
reservoir host of hantaviruses in the United States.  However, these domestic
animals may bring infected rodents into contact with humans.

Has this changed or are you confusing the deer tick with the deer mouse
which is the main reservoir for Hanta?
