Genetic engineering, humans

Hi to everybody, 

I'm writing a screenplay in which one of the subplots involves
genetic re-engineering on humans. The story is set in the future, but I 
need to find a good (basic) reference source for what is happening today 
in terms of the identified possibilities, ethical questions and 
arguments, projected future possibilities, etc.
