Ebola Sudan is a member of the Filoviridae family of viruses. It has a
negative or ambisense single stranded RNA genome. The mortality is 50%
and it is closely related to Ebola Ziare (sp?), which has a 90-95%
mortality rate. Other possiblities for research are Marburg virus (another
filovirus) and Ebola Reston (a filovirus that humans do not get, but
monkeys do). Where as only Ebola Reston has shown any possibility of
being airborne, the blood of an infected victim can contain 1*10^6
virions/drop.
