Areas of Investigation

Replication of Alphaviruses (Sindbis virus) and Flaviviruses in Vertebrate
and in Mosquito Cell cultures
Study of Nonstructural proteins ( emphasis on nsP1, the viral RNA methyl
transferase) encoded by Sindbis virus.
Host range viral mutants

Background in Biochemistry desirable. Experience in recombinant DNA methods
