Re Mealses Vaccination campaign UK

Picking up on this thread, the information provided to parents regarding the=
nature of the threat (possible epidemic) and the possible side-effects of=
vaccination has been poor. I know this because two of my children have just=
been vaccinated at school. I consented on the basis of the information and=
knowledge that I have about virus infections generally and Measles=
particularly, but (I think) I am better informed than most of the public. I=
am very aware, however, that either way I am taking a risk with the health=
of my children. To not consent to vaccination may be putting them at=
greater risk (assuming that the threat of epidemic is real).

So:

1. Is there a real possibility of epidemic - how reliable are the data?
2. How confident are the medical profession about the side-effects of the=
vaccine (Panorama TV program last night would suggest that the process of=
determining the side-effects of vaccines is pathetic)?
3. If 1 and 2 are confirmed, do the risks of vaccination outweigh the risks=
of contracting Measles and suffering permanent disability (we are told that=
 this is the case)?

Cris
