Acompany in Cincinnati, Ohio has developed a test for the two verrotoxins
of this organism.They have finished their clinical trials and are sending
the product to the FDA in Jan.The tests are used to detect the toxins by
classical cell culture techniques and a rapid EIA in microtiter
formatwhich can be done in two hours or less.The products willbe profiled
at the up coming ASM meeting in May 1995.The name of the company is
Meridian Diagnostics.The company will be selling their products in Europe
by it's sub. in Milan called Meridian Diagnostics Europe very soon.This is
a very important breakthrough in diagnosing these patients rapidly and
