Current and controversial topics in virology?

Hi netters,
   I'm a graduate student in Immunology about to take her orals.
One of my examiners, Professor in Virology, wants me to know about
the current hot topics in virology.  Being an immunology students, I'm
not that up to date in virology.  
   
   Can you recommend topics or journals to get me started? This will
help me enormously!
