removal of linkers#

Dear Netters,
We routinely use an isopropanol precipitation to remove
single-stranded oligo primers from PCR reactions prior
to sequencing the product.
Does anyone know if this method can be used to remove
synthetic ds linkers from a cDNA which has been linker-
ligated before cloning? We normally gel-extract but this
is a bit tricky in the hands of my undergrads, and has
resulted in vast losses.
OK we can just try it (and will do so), but I'd like to know
beforehand if it will be an improvement!
Cheers all
Mike Carter
