A preview comparing the results obtained with the old and new direction models for turns in neurites.
In the following two examples, the growth of a network with nine neurons was simulated using the same initial state, parameter settings and random seed in both examples. Figures 1 and 2 show the results with the legacy model of direction selection at continuation nodes (turns) on the left and the results with one of the new direction model options, namely the "segment history tension" model.
